Volunteer

One of the best resources you can give The Mission is your time. Listed below are just some of the ways you can participate!

Health Screener

In order to keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 pandemic we have started health screening everyone who needs to come inside our facility. This volunteer position is very important, as well as simple and easy! If you can ask 3 safety questions, check a temperature, and dispense hand sanitizer this is a great way for you to help out. PPE, including face shield/mask and gloves, are provided.

Day Volunteer

Do you enjoy talking to people? Are you comfortable in a leadership position? If so, we have the perfect way you can serve! We need someone that can welcome newcomers, accept in-kind donations, and help to make everyone staying at The Mission feel safe and comfortable.

Cleaning/Organizing

Want to help but aren't sure where to start? We could always use helping hands with various housekeeping tasks. Anything from mopping to washing towels is continually needed. Shifts are determined by your availability.

Meal Prep/Servers

No cooking ability required! Meals are planned out ahead of time, so if you'd like to do a "heat and serve" meal just let us know. Of course, if you know your way around the kitchen your talent is welcome!

Backup Volunteer

In the event of an emergency should one of our volunteers not be able to make it in, we need someone we could call to cover their shift; especially during our overnight and extended hours when the temperatures are so frigid outside.

Overnight Volunteer

Save lives while you sleep! This is one of the easiest and most vital volunteer roles at The Mission. Your job is to simply be presence while our overnight guests sleep during the Winter. Overnight Volunteers have their own separate space. This room includes a fully furnished bed, and a computer with security cameras for you to view what's going on throughout the night. For this role you should be comfortable in a leadership position and be able to come in once or twice a month for an overnight shift. Shifts are from 9:00PM to 8:00AM. Check out the Emergency Winter Shelter page for more details!

Fundraising

Have an idea for a project your group or organization would like to do for The Mission? Just let us know and we would be happy to help set it up! Contact us and we will work with you to create a project or fundraiser that will make an impact on those being helped – and those helping.

If you're interested in serving, fill out our Volunteer Application or contact us and let us know!

If you have already filled out a volunteer application, you can manage your Volunteer Schedule on our volunteer portal.
